" Maybe happiness is one of those ideals that sound good but actually cause people to be miserable."

Right here, this statement speaks volumes. It took me a long time to let go of trying to make everything perfect and to always be happy and accept that it's best to just want to LIVE. Life isn't all happiness, yes a general happiness is nice to have, and you don't go around wanting to be miserable, but if you expect yourself to always be happy you're just going to be miserable. I have bad days, bad moments, bad seconds. but that doesn't mean EVERYTHING is bad. I just stop fretting and tell myself , "Okay, it's okay that right now isn't so great, because it won't always be like this. I'm going to get past this and I'm going to be happy tomorrow or in the next moment, and it will be all the better."
