Interesting - I never quite looked at it that way. I will admit that when I did paid blogging, I felt it diminished the quality of my content somewhat (nowadays I really just don't have anything to write about!). I don't mind so much if someone has two blogs - one paid, one not - because I'm given the option of reading some actual good content, or reading crap that's full of links.
Personally if I review something, it's my own opinion and not because I've been paid for it. It's most likely a product or service I've had either a really, really good experience with or a really really bad one. I don't see the point in doing reviews if they're just going to be positive ones - a review is a review.
