Samantha, better known as Piglet, The Kid, The Baby, etc, is my younger (half?) sister. She acquired the nickname “Piglet” because she used to have a little Piglet outfit and when she was younger, I thought her face looked like Piglet. She turned 2 on March second (Groundhog’s Day) and is the cutest, smartest, neatest little kid ever
I was originally quite worried about Mom and Tim having a child and how it would change my role in our dysfunctional “family.” It seemed that these worries were well founded when mom gave birth and no one even told me or when I found out about the pregnancy from a friend instead of from Mom! It only furthered my apprehension when I was never able to see my mom or sister in the hospital.
However, things slowly became better. I had never spent a lot of time with babies so I was pretty distant. I don’t think babies are all that cute, either, and I can remember when they took Samantha to a photographer and I thought the photos looked hideous. -chuckles*
Needless to say, I warmed up quite a bit and became more fond of her as she grew. I even began to think she looked cute; of course, hair helped that. -grins* She’s even cuter now but none of these pictures are all too recent. She has crazy curly hair like her dad.
I haven’t really had to babysit and I’ve yet to change a diaper. -snix* It was a very odd situation and I can remember the first time I really felt any affection: I was curled up on the couch and fell asleep holding her after she fell asleep in my arms.
I miss her terribly now that I’ve moved. She used to wake me up with her happy screams or by running into my room and jumping on my bed and even though that annoyed me at the time, it’s certainly different not having a toddler in the house.
She’s a very smart little girl who loves books and learning. It seemed to take a while for her to learn to speak words, but now she doesn’t seem to shut up. I can proudly say that I taught her “Up” and what it means. -ss* She loves watching TV (her favourite movie is Ice Age) and playing video games with Mom and Tim (I hear she’s pretty good at Pacman). She loves animals, stuffies, taking walks, people, trains, flowers, taking my things and all those wonderful little things and you cannot help but smile when you see her in all her glorious cuteness.
To some things up: my baby sister rocks and you should love her because I do!
