Home > Me > Favourite Songs

I decided that this list was much too long and there were songs on here about which I really wasn't that crazy. So, I've trimmed the list and added a song or two. Also, I've changed the format to add a few comments from myself about why I love these songs.

45 - Lyrics
This song is so full of angst, yet hope, at the same time that I can't help but love it. It also has a sort of power metal/ballad sound to it and I love the way he sings. My absolute favourite line would have to be "Nobody knows what I believe" and sometimes I understand from whence he's coming with that because nobody knows what I believe, even myself. However, this is a song I like more for the sound than the lyrics.

Nothing Else Matters - Lyrics
It's a love song and I love, love songs. What more can I say? Oh, yea. It's also by Metallica. I enjoy quite a few covers as well, and it's a well-covered song. I love the lyrics which are rather simple but do ring true for me when it comes to love: nothing else matters.

So I Need You - Lyrics
This is another love song, but a bit newer. The song itself sound nice, it's simple but the lyrics really blow me away. I can't pinpoint it, but there's something aobut how the song describe needing someone ebcause you love them in such an unusual way.

Fear of Dying - Lyrics
This song has a great sound to it. It's hard and fast (just the way I like it?) and Jessicka isn't playing on the cuteness of her voice. I'm not exactly sure what it means, but the lyrics are pretty cool.

Brake of Your Car - Lyrics
The post break-up song. You knew I had to have one of these, didn't you? Lennon doesn't have the perfect voice, which makes her music even better. She rocks and she loves it. She's truly my favourite musician and her cd 5:30 Saturday morning ranks number one in my collection. She's talented and her music varies, but enough about her. I specifically like this song ebcause it's angsty and angry and part of me can relate to it so well.

Mad World - Lyrics
If you've seen Donnie Darko, then you probably know this song. It's a very sad song which produces one of the better lyrics I've heard: And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad, that the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had. Plus, it rocks for not ending sentences with prepositions (although it should be "better" instead of "best").

Pretty Girl - Lyrics
This song is almost emo, or something. I love it. His voice is so smooth and clear, unlike a lot of the music to which I listen where male vocalists have really edgy, aggressive voices. This is one of them songs to which I love singing along. (=
