Life sent me a message toward the end of last week about how I can’t enjoy myself too much or even just a little and BAM! Life bitch smacked me with a cold I am on day 4 of 5 of and still not over. I’m better but man, days 2 and 3 were hell. At least my head is clearer and, yay, I can sort of taste and smell stuff now, but I’m ready to be over this.

On the good news front, we bought a pair of book shelves from Office Depot yesterday and they will be delivered tomorrow so all of our books and DVDs will have a home. Yay! Now to make Ryan buy me these book ends! Well, a girl can dream, can’t she? ;)

Tech Lust: Nintendo DSi

Nintendo DSiI’m not sure if this will be a regular feature but I am definitely in love lust with the Nintendo DSi – the third version of the Nintendo DS. Featuring 2 cameras, an SD port and 12% smaller than the DS Lite, this handheld console is freaking sexy! I definitely think Nintendo needs to focus on the DS; these new improvements make me wonder if the DS will one day be able to compare to stand alone game consoles.

Anyway, it’s been out in Japan since last year and officially releases in the states in April. Wal-mart is already advertising it at $169 and Amazon has both Black Matte and Blue Matte versions available on April 5th from $169.99. Because I haven’t even had my DS Lite 2 years and it was my anniversary present, I probably won’t get a DSi anytime soon but I will still drool over it! The only thing I’m not a fan of is the lack of GBA port; however, if I could find ROMs for all my GBA games and put ‘em on an SD card, it’s not really an issue.

It’s been a while, huh?

I haven’t been up to much, just haven’t been blogging here as frequently as I could and, probably, should be.

So what’s going on, hmm? Furniture window-shopping via the internet. Our entire bedroom set it loaner so, when we move, we’ll need to purchase that. Also coming out of our (or should I say “his”) wallet will be a coffee table and/or set, bookcase(s) and a desk for the computer Ryan wants. Soo, I’ve been checking out local stores and found something I really like but know I can’t get my heart set on it yet. -crosses fingers that I can have it though- This is all adding up to a lot of money, though!

We’ve been looking for cards and kind of disagrees. As a woman, I want something sturdy and practical and as a man boy, Ryan wants something flashy. We finally settled on the Hyundai Elantra and have been pricing them on CraigsList and Ebay motors for a used one. However, considering the recent oil discussions and gas prices, I thought it would be interesting to check our hybrid cars and the Saturn Aura and Toyota Prius both seem do-able. It all depends on price and availability, though. We’ll definitely have to take what we can find.

I’ve been frequently blogging over at Reviews by Cole and just gave it a little facelift – nothing too fancy; I just switched the header image and colours. I’ve been doing some opportunities for PayU2Blog - so far so good.

I’m also still considering school for the fall – just a couple of classes online. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how much I really want to go into funeral service which really is throwing me for a loop. I mean, what do I want to do with my life?!

We saw Indiana Jones tonight which was decent – not horrible but not great. It certainly was long! I wasn’t very fond of Shia’s character and I don’t really think he fit the role (which was weak to begin with) very well. Alas, Spielberg doesn’t care what I think!

PS, if you’re viewing this on LiveJournal, please bare with me. I’m still working out the kinks!

hearing: Lennon(music) and the wind
feeling: dirty

Just a little update. I know it’s been a while. I started reading Eragon as an illegal e-book a while ago. I figured it looked interesting and the movie looks decent, too, so it was a place to start.

While browsing through gobs and gobs of illegal e-books I took the time to download quite a few more, including much of the Narnia series. I remember reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in elementary school but I’m not entirely sure we finished it. As it is a classic, I figure it doesn’t hurt to read.

We went to look for furry rodent type things at the petshop at the mall off base but they didn’t have anything so I might just find an old warehouse and steal a rat. Kidding, about that but I was a little disappointed.

We did, however, get this cute Nightmare Before Christmas clock. It’s an analog clock with Jack and Sally figures “behind” it and there legs move like a pendulum, or they would if I knew how to make them work. -l- I think I’ll make Rian take a picture so that I can show the world.

We’re slowly adding domestic type things to the place. I think that after I start working, I’ll start adding “womanly” decorative touches as the place is pretty bare as it is. That’s okay for now but, in the long run, I’ll want to spruce it up.

The weather has been rather crappy lately. It’s either drizzling rain or blowing insanely and while I don’t much mind the rain, when I hear the wind outside it makes it feel like the world is extremely desolate and lonely and makes my mood a little more blah than it otherwise might be.

I’ve been posting at forums more as of late so why don’t you waste some time with me, too? At all of these I go as anaesthetic.

hearing: the dryer
feeling: cold
wanting: sleep

Although I’m sure you already know that and if you just so happen to want to reward me for how much I rock(or just want to see some of the things which interest me), head on over to my wishlists, the links to which are located here.

There are a few things that I’d really like, however, which are not on those lists.

  • A new vacuum – let’s face it, mine sucks. Or rather, it doesn’t suck at all .I think it’s possible that it is leaving more dirt on the carpets than was there in the first place. I never understood why people swept their carpets, and now I do.
  • A stereo – now that I have a bookcase which could easily hold a stereo (and has nifty little cord holes in the back) I want one so that I can play my music loud and “in the air” because headphones aren’t always funs.
  • A furby – seriously. I wanted one of these when they first came out but I thought I was “too old.” To hell with that! If I can’t have a mogwai, then I want a furby!

I believe that I have accomplished everything I intended to do over my days off, except go driving. However, My Christmas shopping is done (mostly),
Samantha's Presents

the presents are wrapped,
Presents

my room is a bit cleaner and I put together the book shelf.
My new bookcase

I took pictures of most of these things and I’ll upload them to the computer for your viewing pleasure at a later date, probably tonight. It’s about time these entries had a little more than just text. I know how daunting it can be to see pages upon pages of only text so I’m going to put forth some effort in adding other things here, too.

Also, I’ll have the time to upload some more picture of Samantha, which I’m sure you’ll all love.
