When I started Reviews by Cole, I don’t think I knew how much of a labor of love it would become. At first, I just wanted to make some extra money and use my big mouth to help other consumers. I don’t think that I realized how much I could help them, however, or how significant blogging would become as an advertising tool. This was before the time of social media really hitting its stride. Google+ wasn’t yet a gleam in someone’s eye — or was it? This was in the early stages of the mommy blogger revolution. I was setting off an an adventure to do my own thing in a way that I hadn’t before.
I was so nervous because I didn’t realize my own power as a blogger. I didn’t believe anyone would believe me. Wow! I’ve come a long way since then. Now, I realize the power I have, and I leverage that at every possible moment. I know that people trust me, so I remain honest above all. I never mislead my readers, especially when I’m writing a review. I suppose you say that such power comes with responsibility, you know, if you were nerdy and quoting a comic book. ;)
I also know that I can get readers excited about a product easier than manufacturers sometimes can. I can pump people up with reviews and giveaways and product highlights. I can get them as excited about things as I am, and sharing that excitement is awesome.
I guess what I’m saying is that it’s pretty awesome to be a blogger.
