Finally, the awards are done. There are currently three.
Anyone may apply, but as I'm very opinionated you may want to think twice. -lol*
Word to the wise: I am not a fan of complications, no navigation, flash, javascripts, or pop ups. Simple is better but there is no guaranteed "formula" for winning.
With that said, look below to see about the individual awards and view samples!
Breathtaking Preview
This is the hardest award. You could call it elite, however it's one for which you can apply, rather than me giving it out. My reasons being that there are some excellent sites out there, some even on shitty freeservers, and I am sure I've missed some great talent somewhere!
Not only must your site look nice, you must have good content. Good content is my judgement, so it will vary case by case. You must also have made your own layout, and I don't care about pop ups. (If your site is -really- good I'll probably offer to host you anyway d=)
As mentioned, is must be absolutely breathtaking, otherwise you're going to get the Elegance award. Broken links and images must be kept to a minimum!
Elegance Preview
This awards is for sites that look nice, are well organized. I'd like to be able to tell you work on your site, even if you are still learning. (And we all are still learning.) As long as I can get around the site fine, and it doesn't complete bore me I'll be happy to give you this award.
It's the "work in progress" award, of this section. Part of a site being good is its content, and not just its layout. Some broken images and links are acceptable, along with pop ups.
Stellar Preview
This awards is for sites I just like. I might not be blown away but I might consider the site worthy of another visit, even if I don't know why, myself. Content and layout aren't a real big thing here. It can't kill my eyes, but if I can tell that you put effort into making your site, it's a plus. Content must keep me relatively amused and if you have a fairly typical site I might opt to give you this award rather than either of the others.
This is also the only award a blog may be applying for, simply because I do not consider blogs content.
