It’s a ridiculously annoying cliche for a reason!
More and more, I am finding myself using cliches, adages and other common turns of phrases. While none of them will ever be 100% true, a lot of them frequently are. After all, it takes a lot of saying for a sentence to become a cultural phenomenon.
For example:
- You can drag a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.
- This too shall pass.
- Rome wasn’t built in a day.
- Anything worth having is worth fighting for.
- Quitters never win and winners never quit.
You can see that I’m taking life with a much more realistic, albeit hopeful, attitude these days.
I’m sure I have more to say about this buuut, I am tired. d=

It’s true, as annoying as they are too say, they wouldn’t be repeated again and again if they were stupid.
Those are all fantastic cliches, though! They are! Haha. I don’t use them very often, but I think they’re fun when other people use them… at least, when they’re applicable.
My favorite though, is when people don’t use them correctly.
You need to say them in a all wise voice.
