People Are Rude

Today I went to do laundry and some woman has 6 out of the 8 washers full. EXCUSE ME? To make matter worse, she had them in random machines so I had to open them all to find which ones were empty and some of them only have a handful of items in them. So I put my one load in, go back for another..

Then when I go to put everything in the dryers, they’re ALL taken. Now, if I was using 2 and she was using 6 that means she used all the dryers! Seriously, bitch! Other people need to fucking dryers.

So I had to leave my wet laundry in the basket and came back to put up some shelves and clean but.. there were stupid people sitting all over the front steps. Move people. You’re in my effing way.

PS, I’ll see everyone tomorrow!

I cannot believe on Monday I’ll be in Wausau. I get to see my friends and family, of course, and mom’s new house and new SUV. I’ll probably be shown off to my sister’s teachers, get some bourbon chicken and go out (as long as someone pays my way. Hehe) I can’t wait (except for the being apart from Ryan and coming home after he is already gone part).

Yesterday seemed like a good day. We headed to a shopping center and hit up Pier 1, Lowe’s, Linens and Things and Barnes and Noble. We finally purchased a mirror I had been wanting for the living room and happened to find a modular shelving set at linens and things which was on sale because they’re going out of business. We both added some books to our collections and we finally got brackets to help us hang our mantel shelf, which I did around 3:45 this morning. LOL It actually turned out really nice.

On the other hand, the modular shelving did not work nearly as well as I would have liked and I wound up putting a half dozen useless holes in the wall because the holes in the shelves are so small and particular. Even using the paper templates which came with it resulted in problems and I wound up wasting half of the anchors which came with. Not to mention that trying to get the shelves on the damn wall made a bunch of black marks (because the shelves are black). I finally “finished” even though the shelves are not flush to the wall, level with eachother and possible not even usable. I just decided to give up. Ugh.

Well, our AC is back. Called the office and maintenance came over a few hours later. As it turns out, someone sort of unplugged it outside. I mean, how the hell does that happen?

Aside from that, I have been blogging a lot. Although I haven’t signed up for National Blog Posting Month, I have posted every day this month except once. Of course, this is across all of my blogs (I am counting 4 here). I guess I just must have a lot to say.

It’s November? Are you sure?

Man, I don’t know what’s going on. For the past few days, the AC has been really shitty. Yesterday was very humid as well. We replaced the filter today, something which was badly need because the old one was pitch black and hadn’t been changed in God knows how long, but it doesn’t seem to have really helped. So tomorrow I get to call maintenance again. Ugh.

It would have been nice if they had even told us we need to change the filters every month, too.

A while ago I posted about how it’s not easy being green and I still agree. However, there are some small things which can be done which are easy to add to your daily routine and a little goes a long way. What’s more is, most of those little things are related to even bigger steps we can all take to support the environment.

In light of this, I added a new page of things you can do to live a greener lifestyle. And below is just a snippet.

Buy organic and locally grown foods to support your local economy and reduce the energy needed to transport goods.
Go one step further

Grow your own food. Whether you plant a tomato bush or 2 or start a whole garden, you will require even less packaging and energy and might be able to make a profit, too!

There’s a really cool contest going on over at An Island Review and you can win a gift basket containing the new (and yummy looking!) check mix bars! Of course, there’s also a few other nifty items which go along with the turtle (flavour) theme like chocolate candles. Yum!
