Lyrical Musings!

Do you remember when I used to write? All the time? So much so that my writings began to take up too much room on this domain so I moved them to another site? Do you remember the name of that site?

Lyrical Musings. And it’s back to stay! Although it never went away, really, it fell into disuse and neglect until now. Completely converted to WP, with updated archives, new writings, themes and open registration, feeds and more!

What I do when I’m bored

When I am bored I spend lots of time looking for blogs and personal sites, in hopes that one of them will leave a strong impression and ultimately, I want more affiliates. Lately, I’ve found many which I commented on but none which really left a great impression, except for FruityOaty.

Also, this site has such a nice design.

Perhaps this is because I tried to comment previously but I was not allowed to. I got an error that our IP was blacklisted, basically, for having some worm. I could not confirm this fact because Rian hates anti-virus software. I don’t love it but I took the time to download free trials from both TrendMicro and AVG, which found nothing, I guess.

Anyway, I can comment now so no worries. I will go on spending my time browsing Topsitelists, Exentrique, Despair and Rouged.

Ugh!

First, a question!

Q: why don’t you ph34r me?
A: You give me no reason to fear you. Though Rian may be petrified of you. XD

This is just crappy. First, my site is down last night for no reason. At least it was for me and several others. -sigh- It’s back now, so I won’t complain but it bugs me when this happens and my host doesn’t alert me. Granted, it happens once in a blue moon, only, but still.

Second, I’ve been updating all these things and kick starting the Site Contest once more and much of my interactive content is dependent upon the form handler script I use (BNBForm) and it only periodically works. Now, it not one of those times, apparently.

I love the script because it also saves the form information in a text file on my server as well as e-mailing me but, unfortunately, now I’m not getting any e-mails and I’m not sure how long this has been going on but I know a while back my host upgraded some of their resources and the script stopped working or reverted or something and after some fucking around I was able to get it to work again.

This was in may and I know it did work up until September, at least, but I’ve gotten submissions after than which never arrived in my e-mail inbox. I do have a back up script I will be using, though it doesn’t save the form info which I really like, and luckily nothing was lost. This is just a pain in the ass because I’d also been using that form for Wings Of Steel and Nocturnal Refractions.

So I’ll be updating all the pages which contain forms. This includes the “Ask Me Anything” box on here. If you receive an SMTP error on any pages or are not sure your submission has gone through, go ahead and e-mail me the submission.

Interactive Updates!

I’ve uploaded a new song for download here. ‘Foxy Foxy’ by Rob Zombie.

I also switched up the ‘facts’ on the “4 out of 10″ page which I’ve renamed to ColeIQ™ which sounds much nicer! So test your ColeIQ™ here!

I’ve also changed up the Visitors’ Choice (SOTM) Contest! The current contest will accept nominations for blog and journal sites, so go nominate someone!

Oh noes! Crows!

I awoke today to the sound of one of our “epic” crows cawing and it was quite loud. Loud enough, in fact, that I wondered if he was in the house. Actually my exact thoughts were “Oh my god! Is the patio door shut? Did a crow get in?”

So I get up and go to check but stop at the living room door because, really, if a crow did find its way in, what the hell am I going to do about it? Shut the door and go back to the bedroom until Rian gets home and it kills him? -chuckles- I don’t want to be flapped to death or eaten or pooped on or anything.

Anyway, I listened to him for a while and peaked out the patio doors to see that he was on the balcony and one door was shut, so that meant no killer crows for me. However, our doors have 2 (well 2.5, really) “layers” of doors – it’s most annoying – and Rian only ever shuts the door on the inside which explains why Mr Crow was so loud.

Too bad I don’t have a picture of our epic crows to post here. )=

Button Rotation Clean up

I’ve taken down some of the button rotations here: Tres Chic and ResplendenceX and Hikari Exchange. All appear to be broken (though somewhat functional). If this is a temporary error, feel free to contact me and I will put the code back up!

Also, my rotations page probably has the most validation errors than any other page on the site. This is an oversight on my part and I am looking to correct this, but it is also due to the fact that rotation owners rely on invalid code for I-frames. While I know that some of this code may be automatically generated, it would be nice for owners to clean it up so I don’t have to. You’re spreading internet filth.

I’ve also cleaned up the webrings page. I’ve taken down the following webrigs: Darkness Within, Anathema, Beautiful Darkness, Sleepless, and High Society.
